Releasing an innocent British citizen, Shaker Aamer, who is currently detained in Guantanamo Bay.

OUR CAMPAIGN

In a 2005 Amnesty international report, the facility was called the 'Gulag' of our times. 'I am dying here every day, mentally and physically,' Shaker Aamer. Shaker Aamer is the last remaining former British resident detained at Guantanamo Bay. He arrived at Guantanamo, February 2002 and was supposed to be cleared for release June 2007 however he is still detained. He was working in a Saudi Charity in Afghanistan in November 2001, where he was caught and took to Guantanamo.

Shaker is one of the sixteen men who remain in limbo at the camp. Like him, most of them have been denied their freedom despite never being charged, tried or convicted of any criminal offence. This is illegal.

Our campaign is to close down any torture camps. The reason why we have chosen this subject to campaign about is because many torture camps don't give trials to their prisoners. In addition, torture camps don't relese their prisoners on their relese date therefore many prisoners have to stay in torture camps for their entire life.

One torture camp that we have been looking at is Guantanamo Bay detention camp.  Guantanamo Bay is a United States military prison located within Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba.

Our Long Term Goal

Our Short Term Goal

Our short term goal is to  raise awareness  about our campaign.

Our long term goal  is to give Shaker Aamer a trial to see if he  is  innocent or guilty or we are going to try to release him  from Guantanamo Bay by trying to prove that he is innocent.
